Statement

As a textile artist Wendy Allan has always been excited by the idea of light and colour. She is currently investigating translucent techniques to encapsulate and develop designs. She is obsessed by the play of colour and how to manipulate this into a variety of end products.

The Light Pipes are made from silk which dyes beautifully combined with great translucence and delicacy. It is then woven and captured in resin. Some of the silk used is reclaimed sari material.
