Background

Open Blue Is a fresh new artistic collective, created by Elisa Gallo-Rosso whose work started in producing original inventive theatre and being part of large artistic events.

Open Blue is committed to creating enjoyable, unusual and accessible performances; often challenging the laws of gravity, sound and questioning the role of the audience in theatre.


Statement

Through Transformation- we follow the natural link between movement, light and sound; exploring mythological animals and archetypes from history. Looking from the small to the big, we work on the in-between story. We are strongly committed to give a voice to Nature, highlighting the need for preservation and awareness through the discovery that "fact is indeed stranger that fiction!"


Elisa Gallo-Rosso (Director and visual designer) (performer/artist) trained at Philippe Gaulier Ecole, from a varried background including  work in Visual Arts, Music, Improvisation and Architecture. She has been working as international trainer and facilitator using theatrical tools for Cultural Projects in the EU. Founder of Quinta Tinta, Turin, a Company based on Match of Theatre Improvisation. Other credits include, assistant director for Chris Johnson in “Night, London”, Tristan Bates Theatre; writer/performer for the ‘The Tail of Phoenix', Teatro Ellenico, in collaboration with “Animate” (Mexico) and recently performed in the devised puppets show “The Three Wives” at the Little Angel Theatre, in collaboration with Inkfish Company, NY.

Anna-Maria Nabirye (performer) trained at Mountview Academy begun her exploration of Puppetry with The Halfmoon YPT in their production of Igloo Hullabaloo, she has since returned there and most recently worked with The Little Angel in their premier of Handa‟s Hen. Other credits include, Performer/writer in Strong & Wrong a comedy sketch show, Diamond Lil - The Night Kitchen Cabaret, Abigail - The Jew of Malta at The Hall For Cornwall, Titania, A Midsummer Night‟s Dream for Cambridge Shakespeare Festival, Various singing roles in Photo Me at Riverside Studios. Anna-Maria is a versatile performer skilled in physical theatre, song, comedy and puppetry.


Alex Monk (musician) http://www.myspace.com/alexmonk is a London based musician/producer who uses laptop trickery and a concatenation of effects pedals to balance swathes of gaseous ambience against chiming, layered guitars. Recently released are: "Exchanging Chairs" and "What Thou Lovest Well" which achieved a lofty grandeur.
